Taking on the role of primary caregiver is a significant commitment. We recognize the work you're already doing by offering a path to becoming a professional employee, handling the state requirements so you can focus on your family member.

ALTCS is Arizona's Medicaid long-term care program, and it serves as the primary pathway for families seeking paid family caregiver options. Your loved one may be eligible if they are a senior requiring ongoing daily support, an adult with a physical or intellectual disability, or an individual with a chronic condition requiring long-term care at home. Eligibility is determined through AHCCCS based on medical need and financial qualifications.
If your child has a developmental disability, the pathway may look different. Visit our Little Heroes First page to learn about pediatric-specific programs, including Arizona's Licensed Health Aide (LHA) Program through the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD).
